چکیده

Upon unloading in a forming process there is elastic recovery, which is the release of the elastic strains and the redistribution of the residual stresses through the thickness direction. It causes changes in shape and dimensions that can create major problem in the external appearance of outer panels. Thus surface deflection prediction is an important issue in sheet metal forming industry. The shape and dimension problem in press forming is defined as a trouble mainly caused by the elastic recovery of materials after forming. The use of high strength steel sheets in the manufacturing of automobile outer panels has increased in the automotive industry over the years because of its lightweight and fuel-efficient improvement. But one of the major concerns of stamping is surface deflection in the formed outer panels. Hence, to be cost effective, accurate prediction must be made of its formability. The automotive industry places rigid constraints on final shape and dimensional tolerances as well as external appearance quality of outer panels.

Optimal Design of Sandwich Panels Using Multi-Objective Genetic Algorithm and Finite Element Method

Low weight and high load capacity are remarkable advantages of sandwich panels with corrugated core, which make them more considerable by engineering structure designers. It’s important to consider the limitations such as yielding and buckling as design constraints for optimal design of these panels. In this paper, multi-objective optimization of sandwich panels with corrugated core is carried ...

AUTOMOTIVE INTERIOR CABIN NOISE ANALYSIS AND OPTIMIZATION USING SEA AND RSM

In this paper, the acoustic analysis of noise has been done in automotive cabin at high speed. High-frequency noise sources are applied separately to the roof and floor panels as well as to the windshield of the vehicle, which has been investigated at both the driver's and rear passenger's head. The most important panels that have the most noise emission are specified. In order to analyze high ...

Evaluation of anticorrosion behavior of automotive electrocoating primers by the AC-DC-AC accelerated test method

A protective coating has been applied onto the phosphated panels using cathodic electrocoating in two different dry film thickness namely 8µm and 20µm. The corrosion resistance of cathodic electrocoatings has been studied using AC/DC/AC method. Twelve cycles of AC/DC/AC test were carried out on each sample which the DC voltage of the first 6 cycles were -4 V VS. Ag/AgCl @ 20 minutes followed by...
